Suggestions for how to spend 1-2 hours in Albury Wodonga
Whether it’s Lake Hume or the Murray River that piques your interest, getting on the water is easy. Follow the curves and bends of the Murray River as you take in the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk. A stunning collection of sculptures by local indigenous artists that tell the story of their history and the cultural importance of the Murray River. Head into the city centres to find delicious food and stunning street art.
Head to Junction Place, an exciting urban space that brings life to the historic railway station and rail yards in Wodonga’s CBD. Here you will find a collection of amazing cafés and restaurants. Grab a scoop or two of freshly made gelato at Topolino Gelateria or stop for lunch at The Goods Shed for share plates, pizzas, and cold craft beer.
Spend a full day in Albury Wodonga
Head out on an easy 15-minute drive from the city centres to the awe-inspiring Hume Dam Wall and the waters of Lake Hume. Hire a stand-up paddleboard from Paddle Tribe and set out on the calm water, taking in the fresh morning air and mountain vistas.
Head into Albury’s CBD stopping at Harris Farm Markets along the way to pick up some deliciously fresh local produce. Once you’ve filled your basket head to the Albury Botanic Gardens, layout a picnic in the shade of the 130-year-old trees and enjoy the surrounding gardens.
Spend a lazy afternoon under the shady canopies at Noreuil Park on the banks of the mighty Murray River. Lay back and enjoy the peace with a book, cool off with a dip in the river or meander along the grassy banks to take in the views.
