Keep an eye out for the spotted feline pushing a wheelbarrow as he makes his way through Albury Wodonga en route to Sydney! He started his journey in Western Australia over two years ago and has slowly made his way across the country.
Our dedicated Visitor Information Team were on site to give him a warm welcome to our region.

With many warm days still ahead of us this summer, consider this your sign to spend a day by the Murray River.
The river keeps things nice and cool and with footpaths all along the scenic foreshore, it’s the perfect spot for an early morning walk or bike ride.
Make sure to check out the Riverside Precinct which features an elevated boardwalk which is accessible for visitors of all abilities.
When it’s time for a caffeine boost, stop by the @RiverDeckAlbury for an ice coffee or stay a little longer for breakfast or lunch.
If you’d rather bring your own food, both Nouriel and Hovell Tree Park have plenty of picnic tables and BBQ areas. Even better, grab a picnic rug and relax right by the river.
Late afternoon is ideal for a float down the river or if you’re feeling adventurous, why not hire a canoe and make the most of the day?
No matter how you spend your day — whether strolling, cycling, picnicking, floating or paddling — the Murray River is the perfect place to soak up summer.
Today we celebrate World Wetlands Day, a chance to recognise the incredible role wetlands play in supporting biodiversity, improving water quality, storing carbon, and providing vital habitat for native wildlife.
Here in Albury Wodonga, you will find two beautiful wetland environments where you can connect with nature and learn about our local ecology.
Wonga Wetlands, in Albury, is home to over 150 species of birds and features several walking trails making it an idyllic way to wind down and enjoy nature.
Belvoir Park Lake features floating wetlands and is home to 158 native species including the Murray Short Neck Turtle. Take the self-guided Turtle Tour which features signs around the lakes, with info on turtle nesting, basking, spotting, safety and more.
