The Mighty Murray River

The Mighty Murray is more than a river and state border, it is a place where people gather, celebrate, and share in life. A place to explore and push your limits. A place to relax and take in the beauty nature beholds.

On the banks

The lush green banks of Noreuil Park offer a cooling oasis on a summer’s day, as you stretch out sheltered by the overhead gum canopy. Take a refreshing dip in the river, play on the playground, or throw in a line and try catching yourself a famous Murray Cod. When the stomach rumble hits just grab a spot and start unpacking your picnic basket or fire up one of the barbeques. A whole day could be spent at Noreuil Park simply enjoying the Murray River.

Wanting to spend a night on the banks of the Murray? Head to Richardson’s Bend for free riverside camping.

Riverside trails

The Wagirra Trail is a stunning 8.5km walking/riding track that follows the bends of the Murray River from Wonga Wetlands to Union Bridge, South Albury. Along a section of this trail you will find sculptures created by local Aboriginal artists, known as the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk. A mesmerising collection that tells the story of Aboriginal history and the cultural significance of the Murray River.
