Kids Cartooning Workshop at Bonegilla Migrant Experience

Wed, 16th July 2025

Come on a creative adventure these school holidays as you learn how to draw fun Australian animal characters native to Wodonga.

Drawing experts, Toonworld will take you on a journey filled with imagination and challenges as you bring your cartoon animals to life, wildlife that thousands of new migrants were seeing for the first time. Imagine living in a strange new place and hearing a kookaburra laughing or seeing a kangaroo bouncing by, not to mention the creepy crawlies!

Bring a picnic to enjoy afterwards on the historic grounds and see if you can spot any native animals. Get ready for a good time.

All equipment will be provided to help master the art of cartooning. Recommended for ages six and over. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants can choose to explore our National Heritage listed site at their leisure before and/or after the workshop with site admission. There will be loads of fun and discovery on offer for all ages during the Victorian with site admission. Take part in a scavenger hunt or look and find, follow the suitcase trail and play traditional games as you explore the former migrant camp.
