Pack a picnic and spend a relaxed afternoon by the river at Noreuil Park. Further down the River you’ll find Oddie’s Creek Adventure Park. An all-abilities playground with flying foxes, climbing walls and plenty of sandpit fun. Over in Wodonga, let the kids run wild at the Belvoir Park Playground or take a stroll around the lake. Little explorers can get imaginative at the Albury Botanic Gardens’ Children’s Garden, complete with a life-sized dinosaur, fairy temples and a troll cave. Older kids will love the upgraded Albury Skate Park and the BMX tracks across the region.
If you’re feeling more adventurous, Enjoy a family ride along the High Country Rail Trail with scenic views of Lake Hume. Huon Hill Parklands and Eastern Hill Reserve are also great spots for a winter hike with the family, don’t forget to bring a camera to capture some stunning views along the way. Step Back in Time
If you’re looking to mix a little learning with your school holiday adventures, make time for a visit to the Bonegilla Migrant Experience. Open daily from 10am to 4pm, families can explore interactive displays, scavenger hunts and the Defining Symbols of Australia exhibition. Afterwards, enjoy a picnic among the peaceful grounds, where kangaroos and other local wildlife are often spotted nearby.
Just 15 minutes north of Albury Wodonga, the Jindera Pioneer Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into life in the 19th century. Explore historic buildings, discover stories from the region’s past and see how everyday life has changed over the generations.
Burn Off Some Energy
Got kids with energy to burn? Albury Wodonga has plenty of ways to keep them moving these school holidays.
Take on the walls at Rise Climbing, where climbers of all ages can enjoy the challenge of bouldering.
