Dogs are welcome

Up for a barking good time with your four legged friends? Yes? Then skip the kennel fees and the guilt of leaving your dog behind with a pawfect holiday to Albury Wodonga.

Dining with your dog

Albury Wodonga’s cafe and eatery scene is positively buzzing with chic venues popping up all over the place. From shipping containers and mobile vans to re-purposed buildings – a freshly brewed coffee is never far away, and a doggy bowl of fresh water too!

With outdoor dining, pooches and their owners are welcome to take a seat and watch the world go by. Some of our favourites:

The Goods Shed

BeanStation Cafe

Andiamo Street Kitchen

The River Deck

Mr Benedict

The Woolhouse

Canvas Eatery

Cultural Exercise

There’s no need to miss out on a cultural fix just because you are travelling with your dog. The more legs the better we say! Amble through Albury city centre while following the Historic Building Walking Tour. Hunt through alleys and street to find street art and sculpture, or discover some of our rich Aboriginal history along the Wagirra Trail. Or see our iconic Lake Hume from the Hume Dam Wall.

Dips for dogs

A swim in the Murray River or Lake Hume is a rite of passage for your four legged companion during warmer weather. Head on down to Noreuil Park for easy access to the river or take the ten-minute drive to Lake Hume. There’s nothing like a dog frolicking in water to make the heart melt.

Stretch the legs

If your pooch is looking at you with “puppy dog eyes”, desperate for a game of throw, we have the parks for you. Oddie’s Creek Park, Gordon Street Reserve and Poplar Drive Reserve are perfect for those wanting to run off some energy levels with large leash free areas. And for those with social dogs; Belvoir Park, Logan Road and Alexandra Parks offer fenced agility parks.

Rest your head

What would you like? We have options to suit all travellers. Plenty of our caravan parks are pet friendly and a number of our accommodation properties offer pet friendly rooms. For those seeking more space, there’s plenty of self-contained accommodation with enclosed yards for your dog to sniff around.

Check out our guide to pet friendly accommodation, or staff at the Albury Visitor Information Centre can easily assist in finding suitable accommodation for you and your best friend.
