Furry pals are welcome with open arms around here. Albury Wodonga is a place where your dog can be part of the adventure.

This is a dog’s playground. There are plenty of open spaces to roam, sticks to gather and cafés where water bowls arrive before the menus. From shady parklands to gallery walks and laid-back beer gardens, you and your four-legged mate can slow down, explore and make memories together… that stick.

Pet Friendly Accommodation

No matter how your pup likes to travel – caravan, cabin or curled up on your lap – Albury Wodonga has a place to suit. Settle into a self-contained apartment with all the creature comforts at Albury Wodonga Apartments, or enjoy the space to roam at BIG4 Borderland Wodonga, where cabins are cosy and dogs are invited.

Prefer an outdoor experience? You’ll find a range of caravan parks with pet-friendly cabins and powered sites, where it feels like walkies-time – all the time.

Best Walks with Dogs

It’s time to explore the region with your dog-shaped shadow. Follow the sculpture trails along the Murray River and discover stories of Country through striking contemporary art. Step back in time at the Jindera Pioneer Museum, where history has a slower pace and pups on leads are welcome to follow along.

Let them burn off some zoomies with a splash at the leash-free area at Oddies Creek and let your hot dogs take a cooling dip. Test their agility skills at the doggie obstacle course at Belvoir Park, where fencing, water bowls and poo bags make the human’s experience good too.

From riverside paths to open-air markets and colourful murals, you’ll find plenty of spots for them to wander, sniff and remind them they’re a good pup.

Cafes and Pubs That Welcome Dogs

When it’s time for a bite with your trusty floof, you won’t have to look far in Albury Wodonga. Cafés across the region welcome pups, with shady outdoor seating, water bowls and the occasional puppuccino for the discerning canine.

Enjoy pub fare and live tunes at Church St Hotel, or settle in the dappled shadows of vines at Canvas Eatery for a relaxed meal, your best mate curled up at your feet. The local café scene is warm, casual and full of lots of furry faces. Dogs, too.

Take Your Dog to the Snow

In winter, be sure to pack your dog’s snood for a snow adventure. Dinner Plain in Victoria’s High Country is the only alpine village in the state that invites dogs to experience the unique thrill of bounding through a powdery wonderland. Just remember to keep to the trails, pick up after your dog and stay out of the Alpine National Park to keep the area beautiful.

There are a variety of dog-friendly trails to explore, like Fitzy’s Cirque, Ority’s and Collector’s Cirque. In the village, there are several accommodation options that offer dog-friendly digs for a relaxing stay with your fur baby curled up by the fire, paws twitching as he makes snow angels in his sleep. This is where core memories are made.
