Built in 1928, the Butter Factory Theatre, Wodonga – formerly an operating dairy – transformed into the performance home of HotHouse Theatre in 1997. <\/p>\n
HotHouse Theatre is a regional creative powerhouse and first class incubator of new Australian theatre. Nestled on Gateway Island, its central location attracts artists, audiences and communities from Albury Wodonga and surrounding regions. <\/p>\n
The home of professional theatre on the border for 25 years, HotHouse presents annual subscription seasons of high quality professional and independent theatre. It’s also a critical training and development ground for regional artists and technicians.<\/p>\n
When not in use for the subscription season and associated activities, the Butter Factory Theatre venue is available to hire for a wide variety of events. <\/p>\n
The auditorium features a raked seating bank accommodating 162 patrons. <\/p>\n
The less formal studio space is also available for hire and uses range from rehearsals, meetings, tailored private functions, and launches. The theatre’s foyer is a pre-show and event hub with its unique charm, relaxed atmosphere and a bar that boasts a fine selection of local premium wines, beers and beverages.
