North of the Border

Lose yourself as you stroll the pathways of the iconic Albury Botanic Gardens.  Explore ancient trees and over 1000 native & exotic plants. The children’s garden in home to dinosaurs and a fairy castle.

Immerse yourself in contemporary art at Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA).  Experience a balance of local and international exhibitions with deep connections to our region & cultural identity. 

Albury Railway Station - CBD Heritage Buildings Walk

Enjoy a leisurely short drive to Lake Hume, just 20 minutes from Albury Wodonga, where the Murray and Mitta Mitta rivers come together. Lake Hume is the perfect spot for scenic strolls, family picnics, refreshing swims or trying your hand at catching a fish.

Arrive at the heart of the lake, the Hume Dam wall.  Inviting you to walk across the dam wall for spectacular views east to Lake Hume and west to the River Murray. The picture-perfect vantage point as the sun set over the water.

Admire the view from Monument Hill, where the striking design of the Albury War Memorial has stood for 100 years.

Appreciate Gateway Village, home to local artists, exhibitions at the Gateway Gallery, explore handcrafted woodwork at The Cottage or visit Burraja Gallery and uncover the richness and diversity of local contemporary Aboriginal Art. Wander the pathways and find public art dotted around the village,

Navigate the Crossing Place Trail, located near the original crossing places of the Murray River. Walk the 5.1 km loop, featuring 9 sculptural works from local Aboriginal artists.
