Craving some time outside? You’re in luck, because Albury Wodonga has enough outdoorsie fun to keep you busy all weekend.

From mellow river trails to high-octane mountain biking, here’s your checklist of must-do activities in the great outdoors.

☑️ Kayaking and Canoeing

Let the mighty Murray sweep you along while you take in the river red gums and resident wildlife.

  • Canoe the Murray: Casual floats, full-day adventures and everything in between. Perfect if you like the idea of being swept along by the current while you take it all in with plenty of peace and quiet.

  • Murray River Canoe Hire: Choose from 90-minute paddles to multi-day river expeditions. Ideal for those who want to feel like explorers without actually being that far from a bakery.

☑️ Cycling

Albury Wodonga is built for bikes – whether you’re after a slow pedal by the river or a full-blown hill climb that makes it difficult to walk for the next three days.

  • AV Cycling Tours run guided rides with local insights and regular snack stops.

  • The Wagirra Trail and Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk offer smooth riverside riding with art, culture and plenty of wildlife-spotting potential.

☑️ Mountain Biking

For those who like their time in nature to be exhilarating, the local MTB trails have got your back (and quads). There are green, blue and black runs to ensure all ages and adrenaline needs are met.

  • Hunchback Hill MTB Park offers trails for all levels.

☑️ Walking and Hiking

For a slow, quiet and soothing outdoor adventure, soak it all in on one of our favourite trails:

  • The Wagirra Trail winds along the Murray’s edge, perfect for walking, jogging, or pushing prams or wheelchairs.

  • Big Budginigi Hill offers breathtaking views for explorers who don’t mind a good hill climb.

☑️ Swimming, Boating and Floating

Ready to cool off?

  • Lake Hume is your one-stop shop for everything wet: swimming, fishing and paddleboarding.

  • Noreuil Park Foreshore is a great spot for a dip, or bring your floaty of choice, walk upstream and casually cruise downstream with the river’s current. Get out at the bend, walk back up the path and do it all over again.

  • Thurgoona Country Club Resort offers 18 championship holes and an excellent driving range for practising your swing.

  • Albury Commercial Golf Club also boasts a full 18-hole layout and is a top spot to stay and play. Lush fairways, local kangaroos and a friendly clubhouse vibe.

  • SS&A Albury offers a high-tech virtual experience that feels like the real thing but with the ability to play golf courses all around the world in one place (and no sunscreen required).
