Live ‘The Good Life’ and rock out with Thirsty Merc this October.
Head to Beer Deluxe for these Aussie icons’ only stop between Canberra and Ballarat on their Summer Live ’25 Tour.
In the words of Thirsty Merc, here’s ’20 Good Reasons’ to spend a couple of extra days in Albury Wodonga:
- Nothing says ‘A Friday night well spent’ like Avo on Toast and a strong coffee at a cosy cafe. Let Mr Benedict cook you up a fresh chilli scramble or classic eggs benedict. They’re open until 3.00pm just in case brunch rolls into lunch.
- In October, Albury Wodonga is just starting to warm up, which is perfect for a relaxing picnic at the Albury Botanic Gardens after a big night.
- Maybe you’d prefer a massage or spa treatment at Basq Urban Spa and Beauty.
- It’s probably still a little chilly for a dip in the Murray River – but it’s a beautiful time of year to jump in a canoe with Murray River Canoe Hire or Canoe the Murray.
- If you’re not feeling quite so energetic, head to Regent Cinemas and watch a movie with a nice big bucket of popcorn.

- If the music of Thirsty Merc has got you feeling a little more contemplative, MAMA has several exhibit spaces showcasing artworks by a variety of artists.
- For the historically inclined, the Albury LibraryMuseum’s Bungambrawatha: Stories of Albury exhibit is full of interesting artefacts and thoughtful accounts that give an insight into Albury’s history.
- Sneaky Cat Pickleball is a fun alternative to tennis for those who want to get the blood pumping.
- When it’s time to start thinking about lunch, the only downside is there might be TOO many options. Public House Albury is a great place to start if you can’t decide.
- Albury Wodonga is home to some great local breweries. The Thirsty Devil Brewery and Murray Towns Brewing Co offer a range of beers brewed on site and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for an afternoon with mates.

- If you like your exercise a little more mental than physical, Escape Room Albury and LOKT Escape Rooms will push you to the edge and you’ll have fun while they do.
- Lake Hume is only 15 minutes from town. Take a walk across the Hume Dam Wall and stay for spectacular sunset views.
- You can use your New South Wales OR Victorian fishing license at Lake Hume, so why not hitch your boat, pack the fishing rod and stay at Discovery Parks Lake Hume.
- Bonegilla Migrant Experience is open 10.00am – 4.00pm every day. Discover the incredible journeys made by the 320,000 migrants who arrived here between 1947 and 1971.
- Albury Wodonga is surrounded by hills, so we are blessed with some beautiful lookout points. Check out Huon Hill Lookout and Eastern Hill Reserve.

- The Wodonga Rail Bypass was sweet relief to city drivers, but also left room for the development of Junction Place. The former railway station is now a hub of dining and leisure. Eat breakfast on the old platform at Bean Station Cafe then stick around for the On the Border Community Markets from 9.00am – 1.00pm on Sunday 5 October.
- Our region is filled with talented artists and we are lucky to have an abundance of public art – take a walk along the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk to discover sculptures by local indigenous artists or check out the Albury Wodonga Public Art Trail to explore local murals.
- Forget Melbourne’s laneways, we’ve got AMP Lane; mosey on down and make a visit to Booktique to pick up your next read.
- It’s only a short trip to Rutherglen for the wine lovers’ playground.
- When the sun sets and you’re ready to start partying again head back to Beer Deluxe for more music and good times.
