The iconic Albury Gold Cup Carnivaltakes place every March (Sunday 17 & Friday 22 March 2019). This is the biggest country race meet in NSW, which draws 18,000 people over two days and has won several racing awards. $850,000 in prize money, trophies and bonuses on offer over two days with the feature race - $180,000 Listed Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup (2000m).
Hospitality marquees along the length of the straight and in the centre of the course cater for the thousands who flock to enjoy the party atmosphere throughout the Carnival.
Try your luck at the fashions on the field competition or have a punt on the horses.
SUNDAY 17 MARCH
The Albury Gold Cup Carnival begins with a relaxed family orientated picnic day. The Sunday Session, in addition to the horseracing, will delight the senses a host of food trucks and a cellar door ecperience will showcase local wineries.
Bring along a picnic blanket under the shade of the Elms and experienced the fun of the races while listening to live music.
FRIDAY 22 MARCH
The much antipated Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Day caters for all race goers with a range of packages and marrquess available. From genreal admission to the Birdcage marquee, however you like to experience the races, The Albury Gold Cup Carnival has you covered.
Sunday 17th March: $15 Adult, $10 Aged Pensioner
Friday 22nd March: $30 Adult, $25 Aged Pensioner (Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Day)
Two day pass: $35
NB: Persons under the age of 18 must me accompanied by a responsible adult for entry to the source.
Buses will be operating from central Albury to the racecourse between 11.00am - 2.00pm on Friday 22 March every 30 minutes from the following stops:
Atura Albury (Dean Street)
QEII Square (Dean Street)
Myer Shopping Centre (David Street)
Lavington Shopping Centre (Griffith Road)
Thurgoona Drive (opposite St Hillaire)
Elizabeth Mitchell Dr & Quondong Streets
The return trips will operate between 4.30pm - 8.00pm dropping at Dean St, Lavington Shopping Centre & Thurgoona on demand.
