Racing

The biggest show in town each year is undoubtedly the Albury Gold Cup, held in late March. The cup is the biggest country race meet in NSW, drawing about 18,000 people.
Across the river, the Wodonga and District Turf Club has its own Gold Cup in late November and Boxing Day races in December.
Outside Albury Wodonga, enjoy the spectacle of the Towong Cup from Victoria’s oldest grandstand. Wangaratta Turf Club hosts several racing events including a pre-Christmas twilight meeting and the Wangaratta Cup in autumn or the Dederang Cup in early January for the good-natured fun of picnic racing.
