History & heritage

Create your own history tour, of Albury Wodonga. Drive to Lake Hume and see the Hume Dam Wall, and then make your way over to The Bonegilla Migrant Experience and Bandiana Army Museum. Visit the renowned Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) and Hyphen Wodonga Library Gallery for contemporary art housed in fascinating architecture. Gateway Village is home to both Burraja Gallery and Creators Art Space. Take a stroll along Crossing Place Trail and Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk trails, and enjoy the beautiful sculptures created by local indigenous artists. After a big day of competing take the time to relax and enjoy the natural sights of Albury Wodonga. Wander through Albury Botanic Gardens or around the lake at Sumsion Gardens in Wodonga. Take a stroll along one of our river-side cultural trails – Crossing Place Trail on Gateway Island or Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk in Albury. For the nature enthusiast, a hike through Huon Hill Parklands in Wodonga or Wonga Wetlands in Albury will soothe your adventurous soul.
