La Maison (French for little house) is the place where history and modernity convene. The bones of the region’s old Customs building are over 160 years old. However, this hasn’t stopped owners Wassim and Marcia from injecting new life into the space since their takeover more than ten years ago.
They’ve renovated the bluestone dining hall and extended the indoor and outdoor dining spaces, maintaining and expressing the rich heritage of the building.

La Maison boasts an eclectic menu with variety and excellency. Try their delicious bread-based Mezza options or Tapas that are simply divine to start the perfect three-course meal. Next, the gourmet mains, from slow-braised beef cheeks to house potato gnocchi, there’s an option for every appetite. Then finally settle in for an indulgent dessert. Taste the baklava or panna cotta, or grab one of the other heavenly options.

La Maison is nestled by the banks of the Murray on Gateway Island, between Albury and Wodonga. Expect nothing but exceptional service from the outstanding wait staff and be delighted in the lively cheer of local patrons who adore La Maison.
