The NSW and Victoria border is closed to non-essential travellers.

How it works

Each State has its own Government tourism agency that works with the tourism industry. As well as having an overall State Tourism Organisation (STO), each state is divided into smaller sections with their own Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO).

State Tourism Organisation

The role of the State Tourism Organisation is to support the development and marketing of sustainable tourism destinations and experiences within their state to increase awareness and attract visitors.

Visit Victoria is the primary tourism and events company for the Victoria.

Destination NSW is the lead government agency for the New South Wales.

Regional Tourism Organisations

The role of the Regional Tourism Organisation is to be the liaison between Visit AlburyWodonga and the STOs. supporting the development and marketing of sustainable tourism destinations and experiences within their region, to increase awareness and attract visitors.

AlburyWodonga is in a unique position where we are supported by a cross-border RTO (Murray Regional Tourism) and Destination Riverina Murray.

Murray Regional Tourism (MRT) is a cross-border RTO (Murray Regional Tourism) guided by both VisitVictoria and Destination NSW.

Destination Riverina Murray additionally supports AlburyWodonga as a second RTO, guided solely by Destination NSW.
