Murray Art Museum Albury invites you to join artist and jeweller Maria Klingner for a ring-making workshop in MAMA Studio.
Maria will guide you through the design and fabrication techniques needed to create your very own unique three-stacking silver bands.
Over the course of the day you will learn basic jewellery fabrication techniques, including shaping, annealing, soldering, polishing, and finishing techniques (hammered, textured and stamped) as you create your individual pieces.
Students may experiment in copper (some make a copper ring first) and then incorporate these new skills into a sterling silver band. These jewellery fabrication skills will translate into future jewellery workshops such as our Drop Earring workshop.
All tools and materials are provided for this workshop.
Two separate workshops are available, one on Saturday, one on Sunday.
MAMA Studio comprises two separate workshop spaces located on the ground floor of the museum and offers short courses, workshops, school holidays programs, and after-school art classes for kids. The museum is open 363 days per year, with a year-round program of exhibitions for all ages.
