Murray Art Museum Albury presents Simmer, a major new original exhibition for the Summer season.
Simmer is a collaborative project between artists, local cooks, chefs and family members, centred on the experiences of preparing and sharing food. The exhibition considers how food can bring us together, break down barriers and open us up to new experiences.
Simmer features international artists from around the world, together with two Australian artists, and five local cooks.
Each Saturday morning throughout the exhibition a local cook will present a special recipe within the foyer installation, inviting the community to open up new food experiences and take home a goodie bag of ingredients + recipe card to make the dish at home.
Exhibiting artists & cooks: Aruna Gandhi, EJ Son, Eva Aguila, Gabriel Sanchez, haha vegan, Inuuywa Mama, Itsuo Kobayashi, Marites Roque Neal, Nabilah Nordin, Navi Kaur and Rice Brewing Sisters Club.
Simmer is just one of six exhibitions taking place at MAMA over the Summer. With multiple gallery spaces there is something for everyone at MAMA, including local artists, works from the permanent collection, and children’s installations.
