Murray Art Museum Albury presents a new solo exhibition by Chiltern-based artist Kirrily Anderson.
‘And tomorrow the beauty returns’, a reflection on the recovery of individuals and the environment after the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires. A selection of new works on paper by the North East Victorian artist chart both the severe impact of the devastating fire season and the renewal that follows, while a significant sculptural intervention into the gallery’s architecture highlights lasting change to topologies that will take generations to stabilise.
Chiltern based Anderson is well known for her highly detailed drawing practice and environmentally engaged public murals. This gallery based project extends the language of Anderson’s practice and provides an insight into the central concerns of her work.
The exhibition opening will take place on Friday 10 December, 6pm. All welcome.
‘And tomorrow the beauty returns’ is just one of six exhibitions taking place at MAMA over the Summer. With multiple gallery spaces there is something for everyone at MAMA, including local artists, works from the permanent collection, and children’s installations.
