Albury Winter Solstice

5:00pm - 7:30pm, Fri 21st June 2024 - Fri 21st June 2024

On the longest night of the year, Survivors of Suicide and Friends host the Winter Solstice, an event that brings the community together in commemoration of those who have died by suicide.

Created to encourage candid conversations and to destigmatise the topic of suicide, the Winter Solstice event brings the community together on the darkest night of year to share stories, support one another, and remember those lost.

The theme of this year’s Winter Solstice is “Connecting Communities”, highlighting the importance of community for those with real, lived experiences of mental health struggles.

This year’s speakers include television and radio journalist, and mental health advocate Osher Günsberg, former Australian rules football coach and player Danielle Laidley, and poet Nam Le, with musical performances by local artists Paul Dyason and Eliza Hull.
