Cafe Culture

Melbourne’s famous café culture has well and truly found its way north. Albury Wodonga is now the home of hip street food and a large number of baristas pouring superb coffee.

You won’t have to go too far for an espresso just the way you like it. Albury Wodonga has cafés in former butcher shops, corner stores and shipping containers found on leafy streets or down hidden laneways.

Hip street food is a growing part of Albury Wodonga's vibrant culinary scene. Try Andiamo's shipping container cuisine or the wonderful pop-up Piccolo Pod in the heart of Wodonga. Not to be missed is Iconic Coffee, an Albury institution, with it's distinctive red van at the Dean Street Caltex station. While you're there, head across the street to the amazing French style patisserie, Geoffrey Michael.

Best Kept Cafe and Coffee Secrets in Albury Wodonga

Albury's best kept secret is Canvas at MAMA. In Wodonga, call in and say hello to Rod and Amanda at Deli Bean and Beanstation or visit Coffee Mamma. Early morning cyclists can pick up a coffee from one of the best baristas in town, Café Musette, before hiring a bike from Cycle Station next door.

Enjoy a great start to the day with breakfast at Early Bird Cafe, Cafe Borella's, The Proprietor, Pemberton Pantry or the Hideout Cafe. Situated on the banks of the mighty Murray, the River Deck Cafe is Albury's only river front cafe offering gorgeous meals and great coffee. Alex and his River Deck Cafe team are the proud recipients of the coveted Gold Award at the recent Regional Tourism Awards. Visit Carolyn Higgs at Platform 9 for coffee with a consciousness. With National acclaim, she has secured medals in the worlds largest coffee roasting competition.
