The Festival's rich and varied events include panel sessions, author talks, book launches, workshops, a literary lunch, short story competitions, children's activities, a three-day schools program, exhibitions, a wood-fired oven event by the Murray River, and the annual Saturday night celebration with authors and festival goers.
WAM is the only literary based festival in the region, attracting both high profile and emerging authors and presenters. Events take place in and around the architecturally stunning Albury LibraryMuseum and surrounding cultural precinct over five days in mid-September (Wednesday 5 - Sunday 9 September 2018).
Whether travelling solo, with a partner or with the family, explore Albury Wodonga’s best cafes, galleries, museums and natural environments in one, two or three days. You may even find time to enjoy one of the many events happening in Albury Wodonga.
Cycle along the Murray River or wander through a local farmers market. Swim at Lake Hume in the morning, visit the Bonegilla Migrant Experience in the afternoon, then treat yourself at one of the region's acclaimed restaurants at night. It's all here and ready to be experienced, side by side.
Albury Wodonga's location on the Hume Freeway means it is an easy drive from Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and the many places in between. Albury Wodonga straddles the Murray River which forms the border between NSW and Victoria.
