Peaceful scenes to enjoy

eastern hill Rotary Lookout

Accessed from East Street Albury, with views across Albury Airport and the Table Top Range. This lookout also offers fantastic views of the Murray River Flood Plains and beyond.

To the east, you can see the path of the mighty Murray River’s outline of giant river red gum trees, as it meanders through Mungabareena Reserve. Some 12 kilometres away, on a clear day, viewers will be able to see the waters of Lake Hume and the Hume Weir Spillway. The popular Hume and Hovell Walking Track takes in part of Eastern Hill.

Wagirra Trail and Yindyamarra Sculpture Trail

Jump on the Wagirra Trail and enjoy a leisurely walk or energetic run along the banks of the Murray River. Alternatively, hire a bike and follow the Wagirra Trail and connecting network of paths to explore the two cities. The two-metre wide walking and cycling pathway meanders through Albury’s riverside parks, with plenty of places to stop for a picnic or enjoy the spectacular views.

Don’t miss the beautiful sculptures, created by local Aboriginal artists. These sculptures are  scattered along five kilometres of the Wagirra trail between Kremur Street and The Wonga Wetlands. The sculptures are accompanied by interpretative panels and tell the story of the Wiradjuri peoples’ connection to the river and country.
