Keeping it flat
Jump on the Wagirra Trail and relish in a leisurely amble or energetic run along the banks of the Murray River. The 15 kilometre (return) Murray River pathway links Wonga Wetlands with the South Albury Trail.
A sanctuary for birdwatchers, field naturalists and photographers, wander Wonga Wetlands tranquil location to wind down and enjoy nature. Just look at what’s waiting for you – 176 recorded bird species, Wiradjuri campsite, aquatic educational centre, 600-year-old river red gums, Indigenous scar tree, various native flora and fauna, six bird watching hides, three walking trails, picnic and barbecue facilities.
The Albury CBD Historic Building Walking Tour takes you back a hundred years into the region’s social, political and economic past. Download the free app and take a walk around the 19th and 20th century buildings on Dean and Smollett Streets. The full tour takes two hours, but you can stop off at any one of the great cafés to refuel.
