Sweet treats are made of these.
We certainly know how to impress the sweet treat lovers in Albury Wodonga. We have some indulgent ideas but we’ll leave it up to you to make the hard choices.
Any day that Nord Bakery is baking is a good day in our books, but on Wednesday’s they bring out the big guns with their delicious doughnuts. Mixed berries compote, oozing lemon curd, or Jaffa fillings are among our favourites.
A local favourite in Wodonga, and never disappointing, is Miss Naked Cakes. As well as creating awe-inspiring cakes that are instaworthy, Clare and her team have a huge selection of cupcakes filling their glass cabinets. With flavours like lemon curd, salted caramel, red velvet, Ferrero Rocher, Choc Oreo (we could go on, and on, and on), choosing only one will be hard.
While in Wodonga, check out Miss Amelie Gourmet. Being the new kid on the block (well kind of – it’s an extension of local chef and restaurant owner David Kapay’s offering), there is a lot of hype about this place – and it’s all warranted. Who needs to travel to France (even if we could) for pastries now we have this place?
Do you choose a restaurant on the desert menu? Then we have some seriously good options. Saludos in Albury has a delicious range of desserts on their menu, but it’s their Chocolate Con Churros served with a warm dipping sauce that’s their hero. It would be hard to steer past the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta at The River Deck.
Bistro Selle’s Orange Blossom, Ginger, Walnut and Honey dessert will inflict order envy to your table companions and the Crème Brulee at Level One Wine Bar is crème da la crème! If you haven’t tried Frankies and their sweet offerings be sure to swing by and try one of their Raspberry frangipane tarts.
