This photogenic landmark is also a popular aquatic playground.
From the awe-inspiring dam wall to the waters of Lake Hume itself (six times the volume of Sydney Harbour), this iconic location is an easy 15 minutes from town. For the adventurous, there’s wakeboarding, water-skiing, tube-riding and stand-up paddleboarding. For a gentler pace, the foreshore has plenty of places to set up a picnic, fire up a barbecue, and enjoy the scenery of undulating hillsides around the lake.
Throw in a line
With plenty of boat ramps and great bank access, anglers have been casting off at Lake Hume for generations. Grab yourself a Victorian fishing licence and try your luck at hooking local specialties such as Trout, Redfin and Golden Perch – or chase a famous Murray Cod in season.
