In winter, the spectacular sight of snow-capped Mount Kosciuszko is a reminder that cross-country skiers can find snow within a half-hour drive.

For some unforgettable high country action, visit Corryong in April, when The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival is held. Watch a large field of riders perform incredible feats in the legendary The Man from Snowy River Challenge, wander through the open-air market and listen to storytellers, bands and folk singers.

Tallangatta’s distinctive 1950s architecture reminds us that, when Lake Hume was dammed in 1956, the town was moved 8km to the west and the site of the original town was flooded.

On the last weekend of October thousands of rock n’ roll enthusiasts from all over the country converge on Tallangatta for a non-stop rock n’ roll weekend. Wear your 50s gear and twist and groove all weekend. There are classic cars, motorcycles, non-stop rock n’ roll dancing, world-class entertainment, 50s fashion parades, busking, an art show, a market and so much more!
