Stay and Explore

While in Albury, we highly recommend that event participants visit our Art Gallery and LibraryMuseum – a striking building which has won numerous national architectural awards.

Take a stroll through the Botanic Gardens to the Murray River foreshore – a five-minute walk from the city centre.

For those with more time, exploring the Wonga Wetlands and Lake Hume is a must.

Albury is an ideal base from which to explore the Alpine areas and their foothills. For visitors keen to snow ski, it is an easy drive to the snowfields to enjoy a full day’s skiing at Falls Creek, Mount Hotham or Mount Buffalo. There are also beautiful townships to explore along the way. Bus services to the ski fields operate throughout the season.

The heritage towns of Beechworth, Yackandandah and Chiltern and the famous wine regions of Rutherglen and Milawa can all be explored in a day. For those with more time, a stay of two to three days is ideal.

The Albury Visitor Information Centre staff can offer a manned Visitor Information Booth at key event venues to assist with planning activities and itineraries. Staff can also assist with chartered bus tours for group activities.
