Special Spaces and Places

Albury has many special spaces available for a range of group and social events. Whether you want a country hoedown in a converted woolshed or a gala dinner in a heritage-listed building, you can find it in Albury. Consider a break from the ordinary to complement your sporting and recreation event program.

Albury Art Gallery

This 100-year-old heritage building adjacent to QEII Square has an internal courtyard, parquet flooring through the gallery hall and original pressed-tin ceilings. Of course, the real feature is the fabulous, ever-changing collection of contemporary art. The Gallery can offer cocktail and reception services for up to 300 people.

Botanic Gardens

Spread across 4 ha in the CBD, the city gardens have been carefully nurtured since 1887. This much-loved landmark is a refreshing venue for events of any size – from a select gathering to a crowd of thousands. Seating, marquee and catering arrangements are available for daytime and evening functions.

LibraryMuseum

Performance art, gala dinners, even an orchestral recital – you’ll be amazed at what’s possible in the LibraryMuseum. As night falls, the western façade is dramatically lit. The high ceilings of the main foyer create a sense of theatre, with exhibition spaces offering intimacy and interest. Delivering on its promise, ‘Expect it to be different’, this stunning architectural statement in the centre of the city can host private functions for groups up to 100.

QEII Square

It’s hard to beat QEII for public impact. This space holds a crowd of 10,000 for Albury’s annual Carols by Candlelight. It’s also a popular choice for trade shows, festivals and public ceremonies – any occasion where taking centre stage and attracting foot traffic is key.

Wood Fired Oven

Relax on the banks of the Murray in historic Hovell Tree Park and savour the pleasure of slow food fresh from the city’s wood fired oven. Open since 2007, the award-winning oven is available for private bookings: you’ll even have the services of a supervising baker.
