Facilities

What follows is just a sample of the facilities available for hosting major sporting and recreation events in Albury. Many of these are multi-functional and can also be used for leisure events such as expos, concerts or car shows.
Alexandra Park Sporting Precinct
The Alexandra Park Sporting Precinct is Albury’s major sporting precinct. High quality facilities provide for a wide range of sports:
- Athletics track
- Hockey complex
- Tennis courts
- Rugby union, soccer and cricket
- Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
Lauren Jackson Sports Centre
Lauren Jackson Sports Centre consists of 5 indoor sports courts, multipurpose area, mobile and fixed seating for 1100 people, together with meeting rooms and substantial kiosk and foyer areas. Over 160,000 participants use the venue each year for basketball, badminton, curolling, futsal, netball, volleyball and other activities.
Albury Tennis Association Courts
This facility is owned and managed by the Albury Tennis Association. There are 23 grass courts and 4 synthetic courts. The Association hosts the Margaret Court Cup, which has twice been named Tennis NSW Junior Tournament of the Year. It will host the 2011 Country Week Easter Tournament.
Albury Sports Ground
Whilst mainly used for football and cricket, this venue is suitable for other recreational events. It has an historic grandstand with a capacity of 500 and total spectator capacity of 9000.
Lavington Sports Ground
The Lavington Sports Ground is the region’s premier sporting venue. It has capacity to hold up to 15,000 spectators, with 1200 under cover. The football oval has floodlighting and a grandstand with seating capacity of 10,000.
Within the main grandstand there are change rooms, umpires’ and medical rooms, and hospitality and administration areas. Full catering and bar facilities are located on the site.
Jelbart Park Sporting Precinct
A major sporting precinct with facilities for:
- Soccer
- Baseball
- Football
- Swimming (50m pool)
It also has event office facilities and a kiosk.
