The Crossing Place
Crossing Place is the story of Albury, from settlement to current day.
This exhibition, told through an engaging collection of objects, oral stories and film, is on permanent display in the main gallery of the Albury LibraryMuseum.
The exhibition pays tribute to pivotal events in local history; the construction of the Hume Dam, the impact of foreign wars on Albury's families and a stormy October morning in 1934 when Albury saved the KLM Uiver DC2 airliner from disaster.
Integral to the story is the Murray River, and children can explore a river installation via a special 'kids only' display of river artifacts, animals, sounds and smells.
The exhibition is open during LibraryMuseum opening hours.
Guided tours are available every Sunday at 2.00pm.
