2010 National Photography Prize

30/07/10 - 26/09/10
A biennial event since its inception.

The prize this year focuses on photography with a story behind it. Artists have been encouraged to engage with the narrative photograph, one that has a past and a future and asks the viewer 'What has happened?' and 'What will happen?'

Artists have used signs and symbols and have planted clues for us to follow in the form of literature, pop culture or religion; other times the story is a more universal one of love, loss or betrayal.

A biennial event since its inception, the National Photography Prize provides artists with an avenue for exhibiting their work and the opportunity to enter into an ever-growing collection of contemporary Australian photography held by the Albury Art Gallery.

The official opening and award presentation will take place on Friday 30 July with guest judge Isobel Crombie at 6pm.

Isobel Crombie, exhibiting photographers and Silvi Glauttauer will be presenting a Photography Talk and Show on Saturday 31 July from 11am - 3pm.  This session is free, but bookings are essential.
